Bio Brief

Fran Churchill joined the Department of Grain Science & Industry as the North American Milling Instructor of Milling Science & Management in January 2012. Prof. Churchill's primary responsibilities are teaching introductory and advanced milling courses including Principles of Milling (GRSC 150 lectures and labs) and Milling Science I Lab (GRSC 500), advise undergraduate students, and contribute to other programmatic efforts such as student recruitment, internships and job placement, and curriculum development. She obtained her B.S. in Milling Science & Management (Operations) from our department and completed her Masters in Math Education in 2014, from the University of Tennessee. She has over 20 years of practical milling industry experience with The Pillsbury Company, ConAgra, Mennel Milling, General Mills and C.H. Guenther & Son. Most recently she taught high school mathematics in Morristown, Tennessee. Fran is an active member of the International Association of Operative Millers, serving as a member of the Employee Relations committee. Funding for this position is being provided by the North American Millers' Association.
