IGP Institute Training
Courses are educational programs that provide hands-on training in state-of-the-art facilities led by Kansas State University faculty and industry professionals. The core curriculum focuses on the three areas of feed manufacturing, grain marketing and management, and flour milling. In addition, IGP Institute offers special courses on a range of topics.
Training provided by IGP Institute allows international participants to develop technical knowledge and skills in areas that will allow them to be more informed purchasers and processors of U.S. grains and oilseeds. The training programs acquaint international business and government leaders with current trends and issues affecting the grain and oilseed industries.
IGP Institute courses are normally one to two weeks in length and typically include case studies, lectures and laboratory demonstrations. Courses often include tours of industry facilities, farms, country elevators, Kansas City Board of Trade and other sites of interest. Faculty members from K-State's Department of Grain Science and Industry as well as industry experts facilitate the educational courses.
IGP Institute regularly schedules courses in four course areas: grain purchasing, feed manufacturing, extrusion processing, and grain elevator managers.
As the foundation of IGP Institute's training programs, these courses, conducted in state-of-the-art facilities in Manhattan, Kansas, attract hundreds of participants annually from throughout the world.
For those who are unable to attend our courses on-site, the IGP Institute offers an array of technical training via distance.
